Stayed two years. Went okay at first, until my vehicles kept being hit and run in the parking lot, including a drunk tenant driving up the side of my Trans Am with his truck. I had vandalism done to my brand new 2017 Toyota, and someone breaking into my apartment, stealing video games and money. Management was adamant about not having any responsibility for any damages done to my property on their property, and refused to change my locks on my door after the break in, even when encouraged to do so by Pleasant Grove PD. Police reports were filed and the complex didn’t care one bit.
Maintanence tracked mud into my carpet while changing a faulty thermostat, he drilled into the drywall to mount the new thermostat and didn’t clean up after himself. Left the dust all over the wall and the crumblings were stomped into the carpet. They left the receipts and packaging for the unit scattered across my countertop and floor. He also soaked the section of my carpet by the bathroom with water, even left a filthy yellow rubber hose in the bathtub. I told management, figured maybe he’d be back to finish, and they said they’d have someone clean it up, but never did. I don’t like complaining or making waves so I just took care of it.
Also, I was only ever able to pay online one time. The rest of the time I would have to call in or meet face to face to process a payment, my login would lock every second time i’d try to login in. They made no effort to fix it in two years. Just kept resetting my password and accepting payments over the phone. That’s IF you can get hold of anyone. I’d call several times a day and sometimes the only way i’d Get through is if I emailed them with threats of non-payment for not being physically able to pay.
Overall, my stay was far from pleasant. Tenants smoke on the steps or on their balconies, so it permeates into everyones apartments in the building, they don’t do anything about noise complaints, and I feel like overall, if it’s not a maintenance concern or money, they really don’t care what happens to you or your things. I wouldn’t count on seeing your deposit again either. In true AMC fashion, it doesn’t matter how clean you keep your apartment, the carpet will be replaced and the walls will be repainted on your dime.
